Cancer Inducing Substances Found In Most Commonly Consumed Food Item


We are now living in a modern, fast paced world, where time has become money. In the midst of wanting the best in every thing, we tend to overlook the most important aspect of our life; what are we feeding ourselves? In order to save time, we have greatly resorted towards consuming ultra processed food items. These food items may be easily available, and take less time to prepare but, in exchange they are destroying our body at a cellular level and making us prone to developing cancer of various kinds.


 Statistically, during year 2017, approximately 1,688,780 new cancer cases were diagnosed and 600,920 deaths were reported due to cancer, within the states of America.


Consumption of processed or junk fatty foods is associated with approximately 12 per cent increase in risk of developing  cancer. These easy to prepare food items are packed with a high content of total fat, saturated fat, added sugar and salt, accompanied with very less fiber and vitamins. They have also been proven to contain carcinogenic elements such as acrylamide, heterocyclic amines and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. The toxic chemicals from within their packaging material, also adds up to the carcinogenic properties.


Processed foods also affects our endocrine system, leading to hazardous hormonal changes in the human body, leading to various other life threatening systemic diseases.


The most commonly consumed food items, that we all enjoy are one of the leading causes behind cancer; namely, Instant noodles and soups, Packaged frozen food, High Sodium canned food, Packaged bread and other baked goods, Fast food items, Sugary and fizzy Beverages, and many more.


In order to maintain good health, certain lifestyle changes are to be implemented, such as, eating a balanced diet, avoiding added salt and sugar, and limiting tobacco and alcohol intake, followed by regular exercising.
