PMA Anti Quackery Committee demanded urgent action, as some quacks working in Keamari region, tried to kidnap Dr. Abdul Ghafoor Shoro - Secretary, Anti Quackery Committee of PMA with malafide intentions, and to scare the entire medical community.

A quack, popularly known as Lady Dr. Shabana was exposed by Anti Quackery Committee when she failed to prove herself as a qualified Doctor, after a pregnant patient died in her clinic due to mishandling of the case by Shabana. The victim's husband filed a complaint. As the public pressure mounted, health authorities started an enquiry and this so-called Doctor Shabana escaped to some other area of Karachi.

The Keamari region is full of quacks claiming themselves to be doctors and specialists of various diseases. Some of them even have bogus degrees issued by the Nangarhar University of Afghanistan and managed to get PMDC authentications after paying some bribes.

PMA Karachi therefore demanded immediate arrest of these culprits of quackery. According to the Health Commission Bill 2013, recently passed by Sindh assembly - All DHO's are directed to prepare lists of quacks operating in various branches of medicine and start action all over Sindh.  PMA will fully cooperate with the Health Department of the Government of Sindh.
