Sad demise of Dr. Dara J. Hormasji‏

Eminent oral & maxillofacial surgeon - DARA J. HORMASJI, died on 22nd March 2014. He graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 1956, and opened his surgery at the prominent location of 65- The Mall, Lahore where he remained a busy leading practitioner and treated the elite of the country.

He joined MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in 1974 at Postgraduate Medical Institute Lahore and successfully completed his MDS degree in 1977. He was also awarded the prestigious "Fellowship of International College of Dentistry" in 1977.

He was a consultant Maxillofacial surgeon at a number of dental centers including Data Darbar Hospital and Behbood Welfare Trust, besides being a part time teacher at PGMI. Dr. Hormasji also served as Assistant Professor in University of Lahore (Headed the Dental College of University of Lahore) and Dental Section - Lahore Medical & Dental College. He also served as the external examiner, paper setter / assessor for undergraduate BDS programs, postgraduate diploma and MDS in the subject of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery throughout his life. 

He had a  pleasant personality and extensive international travels. He organized PDA and served as its President till 1968. He was appointed as the President of PDA Punjab from 1974 till 1985, besides being a member of PDA committee, designated to reform the constitution in 1972. He also had the honor of administering the oath to PDA central branch in 2004.
