Rs 121.8 billion allocated to facilitate latest healthcare services

Lahore: Punjab Finance Minister, Mr Mujataba Shuja-ur-Rehman has encouraged doctors to raise public awareness regarding the importance of organ donation to help those in need.

During a doctors’ gathering at his residence last week, the Finance Minister said that all possible efforts are being made to offer patients state of the art, latest healthcare services across the province.

He also urged the medical fraternity to raise awareness among the masses regarding the harmful effects of tobacco smoking, and how it is the leading causative factor of different kinds of cancers prevalent in Pakistani population.

He further stated that the government has allocated a total of Rs 121.80 billion to facilitate the latest in healthcare services for all patients across the country. Apart from this, the government has also set aside Rs 2 billion for the sole purpose of controlling communicable diseases and implementing infection control measures to prevent the spread of harmful medical conditions.
