KMDC's Dean of Pathology shot dead

KMDC's Dean of Medicine -Prof. Javed Qazi shot dead in Nazimabad.

The Dean of Medicine at Karachi Medical and Dental College - Professor Javed Iqbal Qazi was brutally murdered in a targeted attack in Nazimabad area of Karachi. Professor Qazi’s driver was also critically injured, bearing two bullet wounds in this attack and was taken to Abbasi Shaheed hospital.

Professor Qazi was a PhD, who was also serving as the Dean of Faculty of Medicine in the University of Karachi since the past 4 months, besides heading the Department of Pathology at KMDC since the past 18 years.

The homicide took place in North Nazimabad Block M, where the KMDC campus is located. According to reports, four unidentified assailants on two motorcycles shot Dr. Qazi, as his car left the college campus.

The professor succumbed to his wounds, a little while after he was taken to the Ziauddin Hospital. Later, the Professor's body was transferred to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital in Nazimabad.

The Police reached the crime scene and initiated investigation.
