KARACHI-  The teaching - non teaching and administration staff at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) decided to donate a portion of their salary, solely for the construction of Diamer-Bhasha & Mohmand Dams, respectively.

The employees from Grade-17 to Grade- 21 will donate their two-days salary, for the construction of dams in Pakistan, whereas the staff from Grade-1 to Grade-16 would give their one-day salary to contribute to the construction of Diamer-Bhasha & Mohmand Dams.

The hospital administration urged the employees to inform the management in written form, if someone is not interested to donate their salaries within a span of 3 days.

The JPMC administration will help the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) in raising funds to build Diamer-Bhasha & Mohmand Dams in Pakistan. More than 2000 employees from grade-1 to 21 agreed to help.

Pakistan is in dire need of new dams, and they should be constructed on war-footings, as the need for water reservoirs is not only expedient but also essential for the survival of people and the economy of Pakistan.

JPMC’s administrative authorities added that the dams after completion would go a long way in overcoming the acute shortage of irrigation water, and generation of hydropower would expand the economic activities within Pakistan.
