IBA introduces Post-Graduate Diploma in Hospital Management

Karachi: The Institute of Business Administration has introduced a Post Graduate Hospital Management Diploma, the first session of which will commence from January 2015.

The Programme has been designed for individuals associated with medical, dental, pharmaceutical or nursing or allied fields interested in pursuing a Healthcare/Hospital Management career. It is aimed at equipping young individuals with the leadership qualities and skills required to run a healthcare organization. The Diploma has been introduced by the Centre of Executive Education, IBA and Prof Minhaj Qidwai will lead the programme.

Izhar Hussain, Director, Center for Executive Education, Institute of Business Administration, while giving the welcome address said that IBA which is the oldest business school outside of North America is in the process of establishing links to better equip the human resource in Pakistan.  He quoted Bill Gates that if the hospitals are managed well, the price of healthcare can be brought down.

According to the administration, the faculty of the Programme comprises of highly qualified and experienced healthcare professionals, practitioners as well as academic experts. The learning structure of the Diploma Programme is based on the unique REST (Research, Education, Systems and Training) model that aims to engage students in highly productive researches, management training and the practical implementation of leading management systems.

The year-long Diploma is based on three consecutive semesters during which case study based teaching, educational excursions to leading organizations in the field, simulation sessions and guest lectures by renowned professionals have been planned for the students.

Prof Naeem Jafri and Saeed Allahwala also spoke on the occasion.
