Health Minister Punjab Hopeful for Improvement in The Health Sector

Punjab: While conducting an introductory meeting, Punjab Minister for Health, Dr. Yasmeen Rashid addressed the officers of Primary and Secondary Health Departments by stating that, no one can better understand the matters of Health Department than a doctor, and that this will benefit Punjab’s health sector and soon this Province will become a role model for other provinces.

Health Department Special Secretary Dr. Ayesha Saeed, Health Director General Dr. Munir Ahmed and Health Deputy Secretary Dr. Yadullah were also present at the meeting.

Furthermore, Dr. Yasmeen added that, there will be no distinctions of funding for ongoing health schemes, all across the province.

She directed the concerned officials and health care workers to cater the patient needs with utmost dedication, and that all the health facilities and medical equipment should be authentic and functional. She also stressed upon maintaining proper records of all the cases, specially the ones that are referred cases to other major hospitals.

Dr. Yasmeen also warned against any act of negligence, and that action would be taken against the culprit, immediately.

Secretary Primary and Secondary Health Department, Mr. Ali Bahadur Qazi was also present at the meeting, and briefed the Provincial Minister on departmental programs.

According to Mr. Ali Bahadur, as many as 4.5 million patients visit DHQ and THQ health facilities every month, and there is a total capacity of 5572 beds in district and tehsil public hospitals.

All the aspects of the meeting were carefully reviewed by Dr. Yasmeen Rashid, who remained very hopeful regarding the betterment of the health sector of Punjab, and believes it will become the leading province of Pakistan in terms of healthcare.
