DUHS and HEC Declamation Contest

KARACHI- Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) in collaboration with HEC, organized a Declamation Contest  for their students.


Pro Vice Chancellor  Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) Prof Zarnaz Wahid, whilst speaking on the occasion, stated that, we should follow upon Allama Iqbal’s thought and work together to bring about development in the country’s status, helping in reaching our goals. Furthermore, she added that, it is their, the teacher’s responsibility to transfer thoughts of Iqbal to the next generation.


The declamation contest was attended by a large number of students, along with heads of the institutions and all faculty members, and was organized amongst 13 institutes of DUHS. The English discussion topic was "Rise above Sectional Interest and Private Ambitions".


 Areeba Ahmed; DMC,  Shayan Marsia; DMC and  Kinza Amjad; Dow International, acquired 1st, 2nd & 3rd positions respectively.


Program Organizer, Prof Mukarram Ali mentioned that Higher Education Commission has taken a  number of indicatives to promote extra-curricular activities, in order to enhance speaking skills, sparking healthy competition among students, developing and understanding of socio economic, cultural and political issues among students. Participants voted in favor of the claim that choosing the field of medicine will help in facilitating the poor and needy by serving them.


 The program was concluded with prize distribution ceremony, where all the winners, participants and organizers were honored.
