CME on ECG held in Baqai Medical University

Karachi, November 14 2016, (PR). The Department of Continuing Medical Education (CME) organized lecture on “EKG or ECG Interpretation”. An electrocardiogram (EKG or ECG) is a test that checks for problems with the electrical activity of heart. An EKG shows the heart's electrical activity as line tracings on paper. The spikes and dips in the tracings are called waves. The heart is a muscular pump made up of four chambers. The lecture was meant to provide knowledge about the EKG or ECG interpretation or Diagnosis.

Prof. Dr. Muhammad Tahir gives brief summary on “Diagnosis”.  He presented different ECG Graph like Sinus Rhythm with PAC’s, Complete Heart Block, Accelerated Idioventricular, Ventricular Escape Rhythm, Brugada Syndrome etc of different patients of different ages and pointed out the diseases present in patients heart and tells how it’s badly damage heart rhythm activity and tells the scenario for recovering these diseases. Furthermore, he said that, recovering this disease is not an easy task; doctor should know what the best treatments are for different cases like electric shock, medicine doses etc. He also shows the students and doctor normal ECG Graph and described the healthy heart's electrical activity.

The lecture was attended by final year MBBS students, house officers & faculty members. On conclusion of the lecture certificates were presented to participants.
