Anti Polio drive in High risk areas of Karachi

KARACHI- Director Health Karachi Dr Zafar Ejaz recently said; A four-day anti-polio vaccination drive and medical camps were held in nine super high-risk Union Council of Karachi, where 87,000 children were administrated vaccination and other health facilities were provided to area people in the camps. 

He said children and general public of nine super high-risk UCs of Gadap, Baldia, SITE, Orangi and Landhi town were vaccinated against polio. Other health facilities were also provided to people in the camps. He said 87,000 children would be injected with inactivated poliovirus vaccine (IPV) and routine vaccination against other diseases.

He said; The aim of launching this drive and organizing camps in these UCs, was to promote mother and children health, in order to prevent them from various fatal diseases. He said more camps would be established in the high-risk UCs, to bring children to these camps with the help of the eminent local residents. Medical practitioners also provided consultation and other medical facilities; including checkups to visiting people, beside vaccination of children at the camps.
